Chronology & Notes
• 1 Aug 1845 - Squire Barton, Taylor Barton, and Nancy Thrasher sell 80 acres in Marion Co., MO previously purchased by Martha Barton. Their joint ownership implies that they had inherited it from Martha Barton.
Evidence
If the Malinda Barton who married Noah Donley was the daughter of Roswell and Martha Barton, then the fact that she was not a party in the 1 Aug 1845 sale of Martha Barton’s land would inmply that she was dead by 1845. This is consistant with the fact that the wife of Noah Donley is a statistic in Noah’s household the 1840 census of Marion Co., MO and missing from Noah’s household in the 1850 census.
